So much has happened - so I'm not really sure what to write about. . .I have 2 more weeks of Internal Medicine - that's exciting! My best friend is about to marry my other friend in 1 week - exciting. I've been called the matchmaker - oh, that's what I can write about - how I'm a good matchmaker as long as I don't try - but if I do try, then its disastrous!
Lets just say that one of my really good girlfriends met someone who they think is a nice guy & she wants to get to know him a little better - so I, her friend, have no problem calling anyone up - invite him to a cookout that we are having this evening. By the end of my phone conversation my roommate says to me "you know, you just made it sound like you were the one interested in that guy." Dang-it. . .I guess I'll leave matchmaking on purpose to those websites - plus my credit card machine isn't working right now so I would have no way of collecting payment.
One thing though that I am getting good at is telling if my patients are lying or not - I had three patients on call on Thursday - 2 out of 3 were liars! I called them out on it too. (Note to any of you who want to pull a fast-one over on your doctor: if you're urine drug screen comes back positive for cocaine, don't try to cover it up by saying "I take hydrocodone" - hydro-codone & cocaine AREN't the same things!)
